DON'T THROW ANYTHING YOU WRITE AWAY

At times when I’m writing a manuscript, I find there is something I want to change or omit altogether.  It might be a mere paragraph or it could be a page or more.  Whatever it is, I don’t discard it.  Instead, I cut and paste it into the back of the manuscript I’m writing.  I also add a heading so it’s clear what it’s about.  Invariably, I find myself going back to it at some point and using it, or part of it, thankful that it's been saved.

What are your methods?

  1. That is a very good tip and you are right about it. Some days things that don't seem right are viewed as very useful on others

    1. Thanks for your comment, Grace. I agree with you. When I have deleted something I've usually regretted it so I don't do that anymore.

  3. I am stopping by from the book blog hop and following on GFC.

I love this tip! I would love to write a book some day, and I have started many times but I have never gotten into a groove, so to speak. That being said, I keep everything that I have started.

    1. It's a very good idea to keep everything you have started, Melissa. You will eventually use some or even most of it perhaps.

I have a terrible habit of printing things off and putting them in a box.. as you say.. one day they may be useful..x
